MEET CHRIS SCHULTZ

Who am I?
-
I have a been a member of the MTSD Board of Education for nearly 6 years.
-
I am a mom and grandma. (One of my granddaughters attends a District school.)
-
I am a retired educator.
-
I taught at Homestead High School for 17 years, sharing my love of science with hundreds of MTSD students.
-
I have bachelor’s and master’s degrees in chemistry.
-
I worked in industry as a chemist prior to returning to school and becoming certified to teach.
-
I have loved learning and teaching since I was old enough to read.
-
I am married to a Homestead High School alum (class of 1966).
-
My husband and I have lived in Mequon for over 20 years.
-
We currently share our home with two felines: Buddy and Little Bit.

I raise and release monarchs during the summer months.

I am current president of OCAREA (Ozaukee County Area Retired Educators Association) - the local chapter of Wisconsin Retired Educators Association.

I was teaching science to 5th through 8th graders at a local parochial school when the COVID-19 pandemic forced school closures in March of 2019. So I experienced first-hand the rapid transition to and challenges of online teaching and learning.
